Wedding at the Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach Resort and Spa

Planning a destination wedding is really hard for some people.  I get it, trust me.  I didn’t even know where to start.  Mainly because, I live in North Carolina and my husband and I got married in Clearwater, Florida.  We originally had our venue with a private wedding planning company (which literally closed their business 2 days before my wedding) Everything that had to do with the ceremony was supposed to be taken care of by this company including; preacher, photography, venue, all the bells and whistles that you need for a beach wedding.  Yes, I did immediately turn into Bridzilla because for 2 years, I had everything planned out because I am a planner. I plan everything.  Everyone had already recieved the invitation that read Ceremony will take place on Indian Rock Beach at Sunset.  The guests were close family and friends, so we could easy tell them “Hey, sunset is at 7:30pm. Be there.”  Two days before my wedding, I no wedding.  I had my reception planned but who can have a reception without a ceremony before?

I was working with two amazing women that works for Hyatt Regency, Roseli Aguilar- Diaz and Savannah Ridge. I described to them what happened and immediately they began helping me re-plan my beach wedding at the Hyatt which I didn’t even know they did!   SCORE! They gave me recommendations for photography and cake vendors that they previously have worked with.   I found a photographer that was absolutely amazing and the sweetest and most knowledgeable woman.  Her name is Anne’ Phillips.  I arrived at the Hyatt and was greeted by 2 women, a concierge and a glass of champagne.  I knew right then, this was going to work out just fine.  The hotel was amazing.  My husband and I had an amazing bottle of champagne waiting for us in our suite.   As soon as we arrived my parents took the kids to the pool (which had a bar FYI). The view of the ocean from our balcony in our room was amazing.  The hotel staff made everything so easy for us, we had no worries. I didn’t have to worry about a single thing for my wedding until Saturday morning when I went to get my nails done and do some last-minute shopping with my sister at a nearby mall which was only about 10 minutes away from the hotel.  When we got back to the hotel, we were greeted in the room with mimosas to drink while I got ready to marry my best friend.  We had a small, simple wedding that was perfect for us.  After the ceremony, the reception took place at the SHOR American Seafood Grill inside the Hyatt.  Not only did we have the most mouthwatering 4 course meal, our waiters and waitresses were the best!  We were able to pick a food option that allowed for our guests to choose between different course options.  Roseli Aguilar- Diaz had everything so organized and planned out so perfectly. She was even able to make some adjustments with the restaurant staff so that my new husband and I could stay on the beach longer with our photographer to get those unforgetting sunset beach wedding photos.  After the reception, my husband and I went back to our room together and had an incredible display of chocolate covered strawberries, champagne and a congratulations card from the hotel waiting on us!

Now, some facts about this hotel and our stay.  The Hyatt is right on the Gulf and has the most soft and light sand.  There are 287 spacious rooms in the resort.  We stayed in the one-bedroom King Suit with a full kitchen and 2 bathrooms. This room was perfect for our family of four.  On the 8thfloor is the pool deck that you can watch the most perfect sunset from.  Some different amenities they offer are spa, concierge, pool, on the beach, kids’ program, room service, laundry/ dry-cleaning.   We were able to get a discount on the rooms for our family and guests that were also staying at the hotel!! I will defiantly be back to stay at the Hyatt.  If you’re looking for a romantic place for a destination wedding and you don’t want all the stress that comes with it, contact the Hyatt’s Event Planning Manager. (contact info below) They will do such an amazing job and you will be able to relax on the beach- hours before your ceremony with no worries at all.  Overall, I was very impressed with the Hyatt. It was clean, comfortable and spacey.  Perfect for both, a family vacation or a couples getaway.

Lastly, I want to admit to not being able to take many family photos or many photos in general during my stay.  We do not live near any of our families so our boys spent 99% of the time with our families that also stayed at the Hyatt.
